Many moms struggle to come up with ideas for a birthday party for their two year old. The reality is that two year olds don’t really need a party. There are many fun ways to celebrate your two year old’s birthday that do not involve inviting over the entire day care group. Save yourself stress and money by saving the birthday party for when your child is older.
Ideas to celebrate the birthday of a two year old are hard to come up with. Many moms struggle with this issue. What kind of theme should it have? Do I invite all the kids in his daycare group? How do I keep a bunch of two year olds entertained for any period of time? There are many questions moms ask themselves. However, maybe the most important question is: Should I have a birthday party for my two year old?
The reality is that two year olds don’t really need a party. They are still too young to have any friends. Although they may have kids in their school group they play with (or rather along side at that age), they will not be disappointed if they don’t come to the birthday. Your toddler will not remember this birthday and a party with many people can quickly become overwhelming for kids that age.
There are many fun ways to celebrate the birthday of a two year old that do not involve inviting over the entire day care group. Of course, cake and gifts are a must. You can invite over the grandparents and other close relatives that would love to see your child blow out the candles. Just don’t go overboard. Decorate the house and the child’s chair with streamers and balloons. You want your toddler to know that this is their special day. To make the day extra special, take a trip to the zoo or to a playground you don’t normally go to.
Save yourself stress and money by saving the birthday party for when your child is older. Take advantage of the fact that small things make an impression on a little one and they don’t have to break the bank. Trust me: you’ll have plenty of opportunity to plan that fun birthday party as your child gets older. And if you don’t want to, hire a professional kids birthday party planner…
So hold off on throwing that big birthday bash until your child gets older. In the meantime, celebrate by inviting the grandparents and taking a special trip. Your two year old will never miss the birthday party. And it saves you the struggle of coming up with ideas for a two year old birthday party.

I couldn’t agree with this more. It’s hard to tell young parents that a big blow out is unnecessary, in those early years, but nothing truer has ever been spoken.
