Smile When Things Go Wrong
September 24th, 2009
Any event planner will tell you that the more you plan before the party, the smoother the event will go. That said, chances are that something at your kids birthday party will not go as planned. After all, you are dealing with kids. (What is that old actor’s line? Never work with kids or animals?) If something does go wrong during your party, keep smiling and find a quick alternative. Bet you no one will notice!
So if the entertainer is half an hour late, just smile and keep the kids busy doing something else. If half your decorations fell of the wall 5 minutes before the party, stash them and go on like you planned it with the décor you have.
If the kids don’t like one of the games, just move on to the next. If one of the kids totally messes up the craft, pull out another one. That is why you always have some extra games and crafts on hand. Be confident, keep smiling and nobody will ever know that anything went wrong.
